Description

Congratulations on making a difference in the lives of our children. During the course of the year, the CITW ground team operates Eco-Clubs in the various communities with which we work. The Eco-Clubs, which take place at the rural schools, follow structured lesson plans and give all learners who are interested in the environment a chance to meet, learn, discuss and expand their knowledge of environmental issues. We are also able to reach more children in the communities and on a more regular basis.

The main benefits of Eco-Clubs include:

  • Improved ways of spreading the CITW conservation message;
  • Ensuring the long-term sustainability of the CITW message and programme;
  • More children, as well as teachers, are empowered in remote, rural villages;
  • Assisting in building partnerships and relationships in the communities;
  • Identifying and strengthening future leaders in the communities;
  • Assisting the schools in operating and managing the environmental projects in the schools; and
  • Providing tools for the children to learn, grow and develop.
